Quantum Computing

Overview:

Over the course of the current semester (fall of 2025), I have been in a quantum engineering class, which has gotten me really interested in the idea of quantum computing. It just so happens that RPI has the only IBM quantum computer on any college campus worldwide, which is free for students to use. Since then, I have been running various experiments on the machine and have been exploring its capabilities. 

Current Experiments:

• T1 relaxation time measurement on individual qubits

• T2 dephasing time measurement on individual qubits

• calculating the ground state energy of an H2 molecule

• calculating the ground state energy of an LiH molecule
